Monthly challenge: November 2026, a governance recommendation

Posted · edited

The task: Take the latest member briefing, "Member briefing, October 2026: the AI Act's first enforcement, agents that left the sandbox, and Connecticut's new law", and write a recommendation of 500 words or more for an organization you know (described in general terms): what it should check or change this quarter because of it, who owns each step, and how it will know the change worked. Rubric. Each entry is scored 1 to 5 on four criteria:

  • Clarity: the recommendation is specific, well structured and easy to act on.
  • Use of course concepts: applies AIMP ideas (governance, risk, controls, value, people) correctly.
  • Evidence: claims are supported by the case facts, a briefing, a standard or a cited source.
  • Practicality: realistic for the organization described; owners, steps and trade-offs are named.

How it works. Reply to this thread with your entry of at least 500 words before November 30 at 11:59 pm PST. Keep employer and client details general; no confidential information. One entry per member counts; your best entry is ranked. After the close, every entry is scored against the published rubric by IAIM's AI assessment system. Places #1 to #3 need at least 12 of 20; if fewer entries reach it, the remaining places stay empty. The top 3 go to the IAIM team, who can withhold a prize within 24 hours. The results are posted here. Entries in the top 10 that score at least 12 of 20 earn 1 IAIM Community CE under the community CE policy: a record of community learning, not continuing-education credit with any other body.

Prizes. #1: a free annual AIMP renewal code (for credential holders) or 3 months of IAIM Membership, the winner's choice, 100 reputation, the Monthly Challenge Winner badge, a feature in the member briefing and an invitation to publish the entry as an Insights article. #2 and #3: 60 and 40 reputation and the Monthly Challenge Top 3 badge.
