The Institute of Artificial Intelligence Management (IAIM) teaches professionals to lead AI adoption responsibly and certifies them as Artificial Intelligence Management Professionals.
Our story
Why the institute exists.
Most organizations now use AI. Far fewer have anyone whose job is to decide where it should be used, how it is checked, who answers for it and how its value is measured. IAIM exists to train and certify that person.
The institute first offered the Artificial Intelligence Management Professional (AIMP) certification in 2023. The 2026 edition rebuilt it from the ground up: twelve modules on strategy, governance, risk, law, vendors, delivery and measurement, each with cited sources and a "Last reviewed" date, an assessed capstone plan for your own organization, and a timed final exam.
AIMP is a management credential, not a programming one. It is written for executives, managers, risk and compliance leads, and the builders who work with them, and it assumes no technical background.
Everything that defines the credential is published: what it covers, how it is assessed, how long it is valid and how anyone can check it. That is the standard we hold ourselves to, and the one we ask employers to hold us to.
What we do
- Certify professionals through the AIMP certification: twelve online modules, a capstone plan, a timed final exam and a verifiable digital certificate.
- Keep them current with the annual renewal course and the monthly member briefing of IAIM Membership.
- Advise organizations on integrating AI responsibly, and publish the AIMO kit for building an AI Management Office.
- Widen access through the need-based Financial Assistance Program.
The standard
How the credential is kept honest.
A published standard
The credential standard sets out the scope, the exam blueprint, the capstone rubric and the renewal rules, so employers can see exactly what AIMP means.
Assessed, not attended
Holders complete twelve modules, have their capstone plan approved against a published rubric, and pass a timed exam of 50 questions drawn from a bank of 200 at 80 percent.
Current by design
Every module carries a review date, and the credential is valid for one year. Holders keep it current through the annual renewal course on the year's developments.
Checkable by anyone
Each certificate carries a unique ID and a QR code. The public verification page shows the holder, the status and the dates, including when a certificate has expired.
