Community guidelines
The IAIM community is where people who manage AI at work ask questions, share what works and learn from each other. These guidelines keep it useful and safe. Moderators apply them to every post, reply, profile and message.
The guidelines
Be useful and specific
Ask and answer with enough context for others to help: your situation, what you tried and what you need. Share what worked and what did not.
Disagree with ideas, not people
Debate is welcome. Personal attacks, harassment, threats and discrimination are not.
Protect confidential information
Keep out anything confidential about your employer, your clients or yourself. Never post personal data about other people, such as contact, health, financial or HR details. Remove names and identifying details from examples.
No AIMP exam content
Do not share or ask for AIMP exam questions or answers.
Promotion
Share your own work only when it answers the discussion, and say how you are connected to it. No cold pitching in direct messages. Job and project opportunities go in Careers and Hiring only.
Messages
Direct messages are for one-to-one conversation between members. Write to someone about something you share in the community, and say who you are and why you are writing. No cold pitching, no sales sequences and no sending the same message to many members.
If the member does not follow you, your first message waits as a request. You can send one message until they accept it. They can accept, decline (you are not told) or block you. Members choose who can start a conversation with them in Community settings, Privacy.
To report a message, use the Report link under it. A moderator then sees that message and up to 5 messages around it, never the rest of your conversation. Messages are checked automatically for words and links the community does not allow; a message that breaks a rule is not sent.
Cite sources
Link a source for factual and legal claims. Discussion here is not legal advice.
Disclose and check AI-generated content
If AI wrote a substantial part of your post, say so, and check it before you post. You are responsible for what you publish.
One account per person
Use your real name or a consistent professional name. Do not trade votes or use a second account to vote or post.
How moderation works
Moderators can approve, edit, hide or remove posts and replies. An edit by a moderator is always marked "edited by a moderator". When something is removed, the author is told why.
Depending on the problem, a moderator can also send a warning, or pause posting for 1, 7 or 30 days (you can still read). For serious or repeated problems, IAIM staff can end someone's access to the community. That does not affect your IAIM account, courses, certificates or purchases.
While your posting is paused you can read, save, follow and report, but you can't post, reply, vote, or edit or delete what you have written. When your access has ended you can only read. If you want something you wrote taken down during that time, email support@iaim.ai.
Posts and replies from new accounts are checked before they appear, and so are posts with links from members below Contributor level and posts from accounts with a recent warning. An AI screening step helps with this check. It can hold a post for a person to look at, or remove clear spam and abuse. It never warns, suspends or bans anyone.
Appeals: if you think a decision was wrong, email support@iaim.ai with a link to the content. A person reviews every appeal.
Reporting
To report a post or reply, choose Report in its menu (the three dots) and pick a reason. Only moderators see who reported. You get a notice on your community pages when a moderator has reviewed it. When several members report the same item, it is hidden until a moderator decides.
Intellectual property: if you believe something here infringes your copyright, report it with the reason "Intellectual property" and send a notice to support@iaim.ai that identifies the work, where it appears in the community and how to contact you. See also our Terms and Conditions. You can also send a copyright notice by post to IAIM, PO Box 3424, Merced, CA 95340. The Terms and Conditions list what the notice needs to include and how a member can send a counter-notice if they believe material was removed by mistake. Members who repeatedly post material that infringes others' rights lose access to the community.
Your data
You can download a copy of your community data, or delete it, in Community settings, Your data. Deleting waits 30 days so you can change your mind. Posts and replies that other members answered stay so their answers still make sense, shown as "Deleted member" with your text replaced by "[deleted]"; the title of a thread others answered stays too. IAIM announcements of challenge results that name you say "a member" instead. The privacy policy has the details.
