A management credential for the age of AI.
AIMP is a management credential. It certifies that the holder can decide where AI creates value, govern it under current law and standards, control its risks and lead the people who use it. It is earned through twelve modules, an assessed capstone plan for a real organization and a timed final exam.
What the course includes
- Twelve modules current to this year: strategy, agents, governance (NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001), the EU AI Act and US rules, risk, privacy, security, vendors, implementation, ROI and leadership.
- Every topic is short, works through a documented real-world case or a labeled scenario, ends with something you can use at work the next day, and closes with a knowledge check. Every module cites its sources and shows its "Last reviewed" date.
- Seven toolkit documents you can use at work the same week.
- A capstone AI Implementation Plan for your own organization, reviewed against a published rubric.
- A timed final exam drawn from a bank covering all twelve modules.

Your certificate

As soon as you pass the final exam, your AIMP certificate is issued in digital form so you can print it, add it to your profile or send it to an employer. Every certificate carries a unique ID.
Employers, clients and colleagues can confirm any AIMP certificate in seconds on our Certificate Verification page. Your certified status is valid for one year and renewed with the annual renewal course.
The AIMP badge. A digital badge for your LinkedIn profile and email signature, linked to your verification page, with the same one-year validity as the certificate.
The designation. Holders use AIMP after their name while the certification is current, and may list themselves in the AIMP directory, which opens once the first holders have opted in. How much does the AIMP certification cost?
Enrollment is a one-time fee of $695, or $595 for IAIM Members. It covers the twelve modules, the toolkit, the capstone review, the final exam and your digital certificate. There are no graduation fees or hidden costs. Keeping the credential current costs $149 a year through the renewal course, and renewal is included in the AIMP Certified tier ($229 a year).
How long does the program take?
About sixteen hours for the twelve modules, eight to twelve hours for the capstone and 90 minutes for the exam. The program is designed to be completed in four to eight weeks alongside work. There is no deadline and no timer on the course, and your progress is saved as you go.
Is the program online?
Yes. AIMP is delivered 100% online through the IAIM student portal. Lessons, quizzes and the exam work on phones, tablets and desktops.
Who can enroll? Do I need a technical background?
Anyone. There are no prerequisites. The program is written for executives, managers, policy and compliance professionals, consultants and technical leads; no programming is required and none is taught. If you can read a business case, you can complete this program.
How does the final exam work?
50 questions drawn at random from a bank of 200 covering all twelve modules, 90 minutes, 80 percent to pass, 3 attempts. Each attempt is a fresh draw, and your results page shows which areas to review. Module quizzes can be retaken without limit.
What is the capstone?
An AI Implementation Plan for your own organization (or a composite), written with the toolkit and submitted as a document. IAIM reviews it against the published six-criterion rubric and sends written feedback six days after you submit; one resubmission is included. The review is prepared with AI assistance and issued by the IAIM program reviewer.
What form does the certificate come in?
As soon as you pass the final exam, your AIMP certificate is issued digitally with your name, the completion date, a unique Certificate ID and a QR code. Anyone can confirm it on our Certificate Verification page, and you can add it to your LinkedIn profile from your account.
Is the certification valid in my state or country?
AIMP is a professional credential issued by IAIM, delivered online. It is not a government license, it is not tied to any state or country, and it is not accredited by a third-party body: its value rests on the published credential standard, the assessment behind it and public verification, which anyone can check from anywhere with the certificate ID.
How long is AIMP valid, and how do I renew?
Your certification is valid for one year from the date you earn it. Ninety days before it expires, the annual renewal course opens to you: an updated course on the year's developments in AI management, followed by a 50-question exam. Renewal is $149 a year, or included if you hold the AIMP Certified tier.
What happens if I do not renew in time?
If the renewal course is not completed by your expiry date, the certification expires and its verification page says so. You can still renew at the same $149 for up to 12 months after the expiry date, and the new year runs from the day you complete the renewal course. After 12 months the certification can no longer be renewed, and the full AIMP program must be completed again.
What is the refund policy?
Enrollment fees are non-refundable once course access has been granted, because the course is delivered digitally and immediately. Nothing in this limits any refund right you have under the law that applies to you; see the terms for details. Is financial assistance available?
Yes. IAIM runs a need-based Financial Assistance Program reviewed case by case and subject to available funds. Apply on the Financial Assistance page.
Can my organization enroll a team?
Yes, a team of any size, with one invoice. Team leaders get a dashboard with each person's progress and certificate, and can add people by email or by pasting a list. What does membership add?
IAIM membership ($149 a year or $15 a month) adds the full Insights library, the monthly member briefing, the members' community and the member price on the certification ($595 instead of $695). AIMP holders can choose the AIMP Certified tier ($229 a year), which adds every member benefit, the annual renewal and a listing in the AIMP Directory.
